SID'S GUIDE TO ... CHRISTMAS!
CHRISTMAS STOCKING BISCUITS

Will you be hanging up your stocking for Santa on Christmas Eve? Why not bake some Christmas Stocking biscuits and leave them out for the reindeer?

1

Stuff you need ...
25g Caster Sugar
50g Margarine
75g Plain Flour
¼ teaspoon Vanilla Essence
Ready made icing/icing pens/cake decorations
What you do ...
Draw a Christmas stocking shape onto card and cut it out to make a template.

Preheat an oven to 160C/Gas Mark 3.

Mix together the caster sugar, margarine and vanilla essence.

When it’s all light and fluffy, mix in the flour until it binds together.

Knead the mixture on a floured work surface until it’s smooth.

Roll out the biscuit dough until it’s about 5mm thick and then cut out stocking shapes using your template.

Put the stockings onto a greased baking tray and cook in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.

When the biscuits are a pale golden colour, take them out of the oven and leave them to cool.

When cool, decorate them using ready made icing, icing pens, cake decorations or all three until they look really Christmassy!
