| FIREWORKS: FANTASTIC FOUNTAINS |

|
Remember ... |
| Art and Craft Projects can be really messy, so make sure you cover your work surface before you begin - or you could end up in big trouble with the grown up whose table you've just wrecked! |
Stuff you need ... |
1 empty cereal packet (the bigger the packet, the bigger your fountain!)
Tissue paper cut into long, thin strips
Kitchen roll or Tissue paper
PVA glue
Poster Paint or Acrylic Paint
Pencil
Sticky tape |
What you do ... |
Cut out the front the cereal packet so you end up with a piece of card.
Starting at one corner of the card, roll it into a cone shape and hold it together with sticky tape.
Cut the biggest end down until it’s even. If you’ve done it right, the cone will stand up and look a bit like an upside down ice cream cone.
Cut a small piece off the other end and put your pencil through this end.
Paste the glue all over the cone and stick pieces of kitchen roll or tissue paper onto the cone with the glue. Cover it with a few layers and then leave it to dry.
When it’s dry, take the pencil out.
Your fountain is now ready to decorate! So paint it in bright colours or stick things on it until you’ve covered the whole surface with colour and it looks like a real firework.
To finish, thread the thin strips of tissue paper through the hole at the top and hold them in place by fixing them with sticky tape from the inside of the fountain. |
Here's a Fun Idea ... |
| Turn your fountain upside down and fill it with sweets or treats. Then put a plate on the top of the fountain and turn the whole thing over. Give the plate with your fountain on it to your favourite person - they’ll get a lovely surprise when they pick it up as all the goodies tumble out! |
