Read the instructions on the pack of pastry and pre-heat the oven accordingly.
Flour your work surface.
Roll out the pastry into a rectangular shape.
I’ve missed out the amount of Pizza Sauce and cheese you need on purpose – because it’s up to you! Just imagine your favourite Cheese and Tomato Pizza. Do you like more cheese or more tomato?
Spread the Pizza Sauce over the pastry, leaving 3cm clear at one of the narrow ends.
Sprinkle grated cheese over the Pizza Sauce.
Turn the pastry around so the clear narrow end is furthest away from you.
Starting at the narrow end nearest to you, roll the pastry up. Don’t roll it too tightly or the cheese and sauce will squeeze out and make a big mess!
Brush the clear end with milk before you seal up the roll to help it stay in place.
Get the Grown Up with the sharp knife to cut the roll into slices (wheels).
Arrange the wheels on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.
Using a pastry brush, lightly cover the wheels with milk.
Bake in the pre-heated oven until the pastry is golden brown.
You can eat them hot or cold. I like them best hot – but make sure you don’t burn your mouth trying to eat them too quickly! |
